The Coast to Canyon Trail and blueways link people to the many parks, natural features, cultural and historic sites, and recreational opportunities like sturgeon fishing along the river are abundant. Shared stories along this iconic route illustrate the cultural significance of the Lower Fraser, deepening ties between river communities.

Guided by Indigenous partnerships and values, Experience the Fraser is dedicated to preserving heritage, protecting the environment and linking this outstanding suite of river attractions to opening new opportunities for sustainable recreation and business in the Lower Fraser.

The Lower Fraser's natural magnificence draws people from all over the world, generating $12.7 billion annually for BC's Tourism industry. It's a catalyst for sustainable tourism and climate impact reduction. Its historic greenways and blueways seamlessly connect our communities' culture, parks and recreation.

With your support, Experience the Fraser champions the expansion of the Coast to Canyon Trail and its connected blueways. Local stories and your input are vital to its planning. In partnership with First Nations, all levels of government, partner organizations and community members, we showcase the Lower Fraser River Corridor as one of the great river destinations of the world.

In 2009, Experience the Fraser began as a government-funded initiative. Today, almost half of the Coast to Canyon Trail is complete. Our communities are expanding the Trail and its connected blueways to open new experiences along the Lower Fraser River Corridor.

Touchpoints along the Trail will share stories from life on the Lower Fraser, welcoming trail users to deepen their understanding as they experience the Fraser along municipal, regional and provincial trails.

When it is completed, it will connect 16 municipalities and many First Nations communities from the Salish Sea to Hope. As this project embarks on its next phase of development, Partners and trail enthusiasts are invited to sign up to and shape the Experience the Fraser project; don't let your stories go untold.
