About Experience The Fraser

Together, we are creating one of the world's greatest river destinations

You're invited to explore the river, Experience the Fraser, and see why it is one of the greatest river destinations in the world. The Canyon to Coast Trail, its parallel blueways, and shared cultural experiences will be one of Canada's largest active tourism networks and a catalyst for active and healthy living, climate impact reduction, and economic development. Experience the Fraser drives sustainable tourism and serves to preserve, protect, and enhance the Lower Fraser ecosystem.

Bridging communities from the Hope to the Salish Sea, Experience the Fraser creates opportunity as it honours the river, its features, wildlife and people.

Experience the Fraser believes in S’ólh Téméxw te íkw’élò - Xólhmet te mekw' stám ít kwelát, which means "This is our land - We have to look after everything that belongs to us." - Halq'eméylem language, traditionally spoken by the Stó꞉lō people.

Guided by Indigenous partnerships and values, Experience the Fraser is dedicated to preserving heritage, protecting the environment and linking this outstanding suite of river attractions to opening new opportunities for sustainable recreation and business in the Lower Fraser.

The Lower Fraser's natural magnificence draws people from all over the world, generating $12.7 billion annually for BC's Tourism industry. It's a catalyst for sustainable tourism and climate impact reduction. Its historic greenways and blueways seamlessly connect our communities' culture, parks and recreation.

Let's celebrate shared heritage and culture

With your support, Experience the Fraser champions the expansion of the Canyon to Coast Trail and its connected blueways. Local stories and your input are vital to its planning. In partnership with First Nations, all levels of government, partner organizations and community members, we showcase the Lower Fraser River Corridor as one of the great river destinations of the world.

Don't let your stories go untold

When it is completed, it will connect 16 municipalities and many First Nations communities from the Hope to the Salish Sea. As this project embarks on its next phase of development, Partners and trail enthusiasts are invited to sign up and shape Experience the Fraser.
